Japan 2013: Episode 3

June 7

Hello again!
My computer doesn't seem to get along with the Japan Internet. Today's blog is written on my phone.

Another less eventful day, we stopped at Jim's room to use the Internet, do laundry, and hang some pictures we brought to decorate Jim's room. Liv found a bag of coins Jim has been collecting for many years now and began to sort them... She found US coins, Euro, Yen, Francs, Philipino Pesos and Czech Crona. We took all the US coin to the bank. It was almost enough for the months car payment :)

Sorting coins

We went to the beach and found a Unit Mandatory party. Jim tried to tell us the party was in our honor, but it may have been a retirement party for a guy in the unit. Whatever the occasion, there was good food, a bouncy castle, and even live music. After eating we went back to swimming in the ocean and collected a few neat shells and pieces of coral. We even found a few hermit crabs! Liv wanted to keep one for a pet, but we didn't think it would be allowed on an airplane and Jim didn't think he could keep a pet alive. We let them go and kept pictures of them instead.

You may have noticed a lack of pictures in this episode. I haven't quite figured out how to do that on the phone yet. I'll have to put them up later.

Best wishes to all of you stateside. We miss you and love you lots! Send a message on Skype, Facebook, or email to plan a Skype date! We'd love to visit.

Hermit Crab

I had told Liv to finish her pork before getting more desert. Well, Jim helped her finish the pork, so he had to help with the desert too... a chocolate cupcake. That'll teach 'em :)
